As mentioned not a bad choice amongst all of them. I would go with the Savage. The Weather Warrior is stainless and the accutrigger is the best trigger out of all the rifles listed. The accustock is a skeletal frame so bedding would not be an issue wih this gun. I almost bought one in 7mm-08 but bought a TC Prohunter instead with no regrets. (.75"groups @100 yards) I suspect the Savage might be the most accurate out of box from the 5 models listed. The weatherby and Tikka's are made offshore...Just assume keep the $ in the US.

Hey Guys! It's been a while since I have been on this forum. I was wondering if anyone knows of a real good gun smith? I am in central Vermont so something closer to me (or the west Leb area) would be preferred. Sadly, I can't seem to find anyone in my area that I would trust to work on my guns.
Back to the subject on hand . . . I have a Winchester Model 70 (post 64) chambered in a 30-06. Love the gun and it shoots sub 1" groups off a bench. The trigger is a little stiff and I would like to have it lightened up, may 3 - 3.5lbs or possibly replaced with a Timmney trigger. I had also bought a Boyd Laminated stock a year or so ago for it. When I tried to put it on, I couldn't get the bolt to work properly or the door to open on the bottom. It needs some fitting and I'm too chicken to do it myself.
Since I decided to keep my existing deer/elk gun instead of buying a new one, I decided to splurge on a new scope. I bought a Swarovski Z3 4-12x50 BRH Reticle. Once I get the Winchester upgrade I will them put the scope on.
So any recommendations on gun smiths? Thanks, Rob
