Went out last night to roost some birds. Brought the coyote gun along as I have been seeing a big dog in this field. As we crest the first hill and glass one of the fields my buddy says he sees a wood chuck. I put the sticks out and look for it. I find him and range him at 168 yards. My buddy say "way to far". Whatever you say it replied. I check my ballistics table. 1" high at 175. I am shooting down hill so I hold dead on center mass. Settled the cross hairs in and squeezed of a good shot. I thought I missed him as he did not appear to even move. When we walked down to him it was a little messy!!! The shot did not bother the turkeys because they were in the next field and roosted where they usually do. The coyote and the deer were a no show. We were a no show as my boy decided he wanted to sleep in!!

My buddy is a good guy but VERY old school. He does not like to shoot past 50 yards for anything with anything!!
