i have read on past postings about people getting extended wires for trolling motor batteries so they can be located at opposite ends and was wandering if anyone know s the best place to get them.

BH603, I did that with my canoe rig The battery is up front keeping it from lifting to high out of the water when I sit my fat rear down in the back. Before I did that, it was real fun trying to fish on windy days! All I did was get blown around in circles and got dizzy All I did was picked up some 10ga (** see my note below) wire at an auto store and spliced them. It's been working now for three or four years without any issues I thought one time I was having an issue with it but I guess it helps if the trolling motor was hooked up to the battery Boy was that a wonderful blond moment Note to self.....check the battery all connection next time before unwrapping all that electrical tape! ** I think it was 10ga wire. What I did was call the trolling company and found out what gauge wire was on my trolling motor and match it. I hope this helps

Nice set up He's another little bit of information for you that I found out the other day. If you cross connect you trolling wires to your battery, you will reverse the motor I sure the heck didn't know that My trolling motor wires have yellow tape for the positive post and green tape for the negative post on my battery. The first time getting the motor out, I hooked them up different. So my 3 reverse setting were now forward and I now had 5 speed setting in reverse. I had to pull over to a shallow spot and climb out to fit them It would be a great joke to play on your buddy if he ask you connect his trolling motor wires to the battery
