My technique today was to sit by a swamp and watch the shoreline for activity with my spotting scope...I spotted this little beauty about 100 yards away and stalked him until I was about 20 feet away then nailed him with my Thompson Contender .410 Good fun on a great day afield...put the move on another one but got busted and he was gone!

Nice. I hate those darn things. I'm sure I've still got several in my pond in IN that have been happy I haven't been there in the last 7+ months to bother them.

That's a heck of an idea! I always had to get in the boat and paddle out and retrieve them if they were shot.

I bought a heavyweight telescoping fishing pole with 30 pound test...sawed up a dowel and put eyes and hooks on it...works great for waterfowl also ")...I have used it for ducks and geese...I like to get out at some of the local boat ramps in the summer and cast the biggest plug haha...one old time said WTH are you trying to catch son? lmao. My scientific testing has indicated the hook on the front of the plug works better then on the back ")
