Went crow hunting for the first time today. Myself and the other 2 are hooked we saw a ton of birds shot 4 in our first set and another 4 in the second set they were everywhere none of us had ever done this before all in all we shot about 1 1/2 boxes of ammo what a time.

Jwiggin, were you shooting over decoys? What calls were you using? The reason I ask is that we had decoys set out in the corner of a field last week and as the crows came over the treeline and spotted the decoys they did a 180 and vanished. W

[ last post sent before I finished ] We were using crow-owl fight calls and distress calls. Something about the decoy spread or positioning really spooked them. It happened twice so I am sure we are doing something wrong. This morning we setup in the woods in with no decoys and had them come in fast and curious - even stayed around after being shot at. shooting over decoys when we shot birds we added them in to used just single crow sounds along with owl vs crow when things got slow pulled out the night and hale we would shoot and they would circle back sometimes.
