Pulled a bunch of memory cards today and had several pictures bucks still with spikes on their head. Anyone finding any sheds around our parts or have pics of bucks still with their head gear on?
Saw a herd of deer in a spot MKMGOBL and I have talked about hanging a treestand or three for the last couple years. One of them was a very large bodied deer, had to be a buck...and he was a slickhead.
Did you see those runways they've got heading up the hillside? I'm sure come spring if you checked in where their yarding, you'ld find something other than deer turds
Last time out plowing I was heading back from Penacook and almost nail four standing in the road. Two of those had huge bodies and nothing on top. For those that know the story...these deer weren't but 30 yards from the parking spot my truck got the spring time scratch on my truck door.
"It's better to be hated for who you areā¦then liked for you're not"
Yes they're definately dropping down this way.I found 18 fresh ones yesterday.
The first for the day.
15yds down the hill it's mate.
And 10yds. off to the side laid this set.
In the same area a couple passes across the hill another one.
And one more from this same area.
In a different area this next one came fast with in 5 mins. of searching this area.
There was a long dry spell then found a hot area finding 4 quick ones. These were close to where I took a pic of that buck we were talking Tom.
First this matched set laying together.
Next a nice little 4pt. side.
I couldn't believe this next one,my first dink of the season. If this buck dropped in the snow it would have been lost forever.
It measures 2 3/4's".
It was awhile again plowing through snow before I spotted this one from aways.
Awile later, but not far from the last one a little one.
And one last one for this area.
Another move to a different area and it as more sheds.
Another little one.
I almost missed this next one.I walked passed it then looked back and saw it.
An hour later and 400yds away the mate to the last one.
No more sheds were found in this area and with daylight running out I moved again.I had less then a1/2 hour of light when I walked up on this one.I have 2 matched sets from this buck from 08 and 09,he's my g-2 buck.
I almost ran til dark hoping to find the mate to the last one coming up empty.I hope I can find it later.
You guys have to realize shed hunting down here in Maryland and shed hunting up North where you guys are is two different worlds. In the 3 years I hunted Vermont in rifle season I only saw 3 buck.I can find a couple dozen buck a day walking around where I'm shedding down here.
