Well the season ended today. I pulled all my traps and when I got to the second to the last one I was happy to see this hanging from the pole. If anyone out there doesn't believe these things aren't tough. This one had a 160 coni right around the neck and still had plenty of life left in him. I ended up with three for the season. another picture of him

Pretty cool! How many traps did you have out? Just wondering what it takes to catch 3 of those boys. Next year will be my first try at em. No fisher in Western NY

Thanks guys but that thread was from 2 years ago. This past season I was not so lucky I had 2 dozen sets out and just couldn't put a neckace on any. I did have to shut the line down for a week at christmas and thats when they came thru. I just started beaver trapping last week. Presently we are trapping a remote pond that we had to snow shoe into. Its been slow but we finally got one last night at a cross over. Things are going to heat up here within the next couple of weeks. With more and more sets going out every weekend.

I always sell local. We put up close to 100 beaver last year. The price average was about $12.00. Otter about $20.00 and rats coming in about $4.00. I'm going to target some rats this year as the price is up right now. I don't know if it will hold though.

I here ya about falling thru. Me and my nephew were doing the flood control up in Salisbury last year. We had sets under the ice and went to check them after dark. They let some water out of the damn which made big air pockets under the ice. We both came home wet and cold that night.

WE were getting 10 dollar rats here in western ny this year, Of course, we have some of the best rats goin'. Talked to my buyer and he said that he doesnt expect the price to drop anytime soon. Cant believe you only got 20 for otter. WOnder why so low?
