Went duck hunting thurs and this morning. Thursday the river has frozen up and we needed to bust some ice. Made a nice hole. Action wasn't all that great since the ducks had been pushed down river. We ended up with two hen mallards. One landed on the ice and Gus smashed through it like it was nothing to get to the duck.

Today was supposed to be some rain and ENE winds @ 11 mph . Turned out to be snow with ENE 20-25 winds. Ducks started in first thing in the morning. My buddy got two drake mallards and had to leave early. I knocked down one drake. Not more than 5 minutes after he left a nice flock came in and I knocked a hen mallard down. She landed on the ice but gus could not break it. Sent him four times before he was too tired. Not too lnong after I got a nice drake ring neck. After we left I got the "other" dog. Its a fresh water pole with a salt water plug on it. Went back and got my hen

BH I got him from a breeder on the maine/nh border. It's called salmon falls kennels. Doug Purvis is the breeders name. He has been at it for 35 years and his dogs are awesome.
