Well I’ve been hunting that big buck pretty hard the past several times out so today I wanted to explore another area but still staying close his home grounds. Found some great rubs and a few scrapes but the highlight of the day was this. I found it lying on a small island of hemlocks in the middle of a good size bog.
I should head back with my hip boots and really start getting back into shed hunting. This area is some real sweet prime moose country. In my days of living in MD I wasn’t too bad of a shed hunter. Not nearly as good as my brother but I could hold my own. This makes my shed count up to 2 and is by far in better condition as my first moose shed.
The main reason I make the trip for a Vermont deer hunt is to find my first moose shed and one of these days it will happen. I'll settle for one a fraction the size of that one too...love the mass and the long points on that thing.
Vermont hunting 3yrs. so far: moose sheds...none deer....none snowshoes....2 grouse...1

Very cool Tom!! I have one that I found up in Maine.. smaller than yours and I also found a piece of broken antler in a logging road up there.. and years ago I stumbled across a moose scull with the antlers still attached probably 40" wide it was first thing in the morning so I left it and when I went back later I could not find it!...LOL! great find!...Bob..
