Just got done buffing up my Omega for the range on Monday. I sure hope it nice out and I can check to see if there's any fine tuning that needs to be done.

I'm heading to the range in a few hours to see how well my gun is sighted in. I'll probably only be shooting mostly from the 50 yard bench and as always, a follow up shot at 100. Come on Saturday

My smokepole is on the money I'll clean it up again tonight and double check it tomorrow. My Rem280 however...is another story It's started off a little right but as I tried to dial him in, things went south. When I saw south I mean that in a very bad way. It's jumping around a lot on me and I can't figure out why. I'm going to give it a scrubbing here in a few and see it that's what's causing it. If that doesn't work, it could be heading for the used gun rack real fast.

I knew there was a reason for a CRACK shot like you to miss TWICE! Hope you figure it out, bud!

Yeah, what really has got me upset about this is that I love this gun and now I doubt in shooting it. For me that's not good Once I doubt or loose confidence in something it's tough for me to use it. Hell my 1187 jammed in VT on hunt. On the way home I dropped it off at my gunsmith in Newport. He fixed it and the gun never saw home again...well not my home. It went straight to the used gun rack. If this gun doesn't group tight today, it's fate will be just the same as the 1187. I'll use my 30-30, 06 or smokepole

Well I'm very pleased with this mornings outcome on the range. Started with the muzzle loader kneeling free-hand and it's pretty much dead nuts at at 50 yards. Enough that I won't be doing anything with it this season. The Rem280 is also pretty much good to go I shot a 3 shot group after bore sighting and had a decent group. Made the move (which was wrong) and had a bad shot. Back tracked the scope move and re-did it right. I had 2 shells left and I drilled them. I will need to go back before the gun season and fine tune it but for now, my confidence in the gun is back I also got "Mario" dialed in where I'm completely thrilled where he's hitting. After working on it, I shot a 5 shot group with my last shot being a flyer. I wasn't comfortable on the sled and should have back off of it but I didn't and was off quit a bit. I'll go back and set 4 targets and do it all over again before the gun season kicks in. Shoot both guns at 50 to fine tune / free-hand shooting, then back to 100 yards for the final shots from rest. I'll post up photos of todays targets later.

280REM = If I didn’t run out of shells, I could have dialed it in to the yellow dot. That’s where I’d like to be and shouldn’t have an issue getting there next time. T/C Omega = This shot felt great! I was kneeling with the sling wrapped around my arm with this shot so I very pleased with yesterdays sighting in session. I doubt my smoke pole shot with be more than 125 yards so again, I’m pleased with where it is now. Benelli R1 = This photo is after my work to get him dialed in. After putting up a fresh target, my first shot was a little high and left for my liking. Made the adjustments and fired off 4 more rounds with the 5th one being totally my mistake. I’m pretty sure this gun is done!
