TC, They are similar to a wingbone call. You have to suck on them to make them work. They take pactice, practice and more practice. Cost varies on them. Check ebay sometimes they have sevral different makers on there with different prices.

TC, I just got an email today from a guy in ohio who makes Trumpet calls. I got his name off youtube. The call he recomends only runs from 150 to 200 dollars and he uses a wingbone in it. When I watched his video clip, I thought they would be in that price range. I was just curious. Like I said , it depends on who makes them. If you go on youtube.com and search trumpet calls you will see his videos. His name is Marlin Watkins, he makes them sound pretty good.

TC...there is alot of trumpet makers out there. They are easier to use than a wingbone. There is a gentleman out of Traverlers Rest SC that makes a good one. His name is Charles Hudon. Morning glory calls is a good one too. If you look on oldgobbler.com as well as customcalls.com you ca find alot of the trumpet makers there. I believe that Kehl from Morning glory calls sells them for arouns $80. Before you choos one lt me know who you are looking at and I may be able to offer some more insight to their calls.

thanks, guys! I NOW have a wingbone call, courtesy of a great turkey hunter and board member ( You know who you are).!
I am going to look into a trumpet call though! Maybe not before this fall, but before next spring!
For now I am going to concentrate on the wingbone and research the trumpet.
the reason for me starting this post was because I watched a video of a fall hunt and this guy called in a jake with a trumpet call. This thing sounded sweet!
Now that I have been puckering on the wingbone, I am really starting to yearn for for the unique calls that I have not tried yet!
Again, thanks guys for all the info on the trumpet call. Please keep the info coming!
