O.k. so he's not huge but he's the biggest buck I have gotten to date. Had a doctors appointmment this morning and had to decide to go back to work or to go home. I chose home but decided to check out one of my spots on the way. It's been windy and rainy here lately and figured it might be a good day to still hunt. I started heading into the thicket and was about 15 yds in when I saw a tail wag about 60 yards ahead of me. I crept alittle closer but had not shot. I saw it again heading up the the green field so I eased back to an opening to the field. I waited about ten minutes and nothing came out so I figure the deer had bedded down. I looped back in and got all the way to where I had seen the deer and no sign of it until i lokked into the field. Of course the deer was out there now so I slowly made my way all the way back to the opening  I saw it was the buck I missed at the beginning of last week and was taking off my pack trying to get the range finder. As I was crouching down I broke a stick and the buck looked up right at me  As slowly as I could i stood back up and had only an 80 yd off hand shot. I put the cross hairs on him tried to settle myself and shot. Was I ever surprised to see him rolling on the ground. I had spined him and he was trying to get back up so I ran into the field and threw more lead at him once again missing so i ran 20 yards closer and missed him again Finally I ran up to him and put one in his chest. I don't think this is the one that was with the four pointer when I issed that one. His coat isn't dark enough and that deer I saw was heavy. This one dressed at 113 lbs and was and 8 pt. I couldn't be happier
This one my buddy let walk past him down the hedgrow to me. He would have been a 6 pt but had one side busted off but he weighed 135 lbs. It's the one in the middle
