regnar makes some good points. You definately get what you pay for. Many people think I am crazy because the glass on my rifles are worth more than the rifle itself. You can't hit a target if you can't see it. However I am a little anal on good glass. Optic manufacturers are improving quality measures every day. The bargan scopes are head and shoulders above what they once were. Bottom line, get what you can afford. The two things you do not want to cut cost on is optics and ammo.

Definately go with leupold. Optics are the most important thing on your gun. Buy the best scope you can afford, you won't regret it. I have a leupold VX-II 3-9 and it's amazing. The clarity is unbelievable and it looks great. I had a 4-12 AO also, but I like the 3-9 better.

If money wasn't a factor I would definetly top all with swarovski. Well it is so I have only one on a sako 7mm mag. I have leopolds and love them. My latest is a Cabelas Alaskan Guide 2.5 x 32 Shotgun scope in camo that has been super. Two toms and a coyote so far... Spend a few bucks and you won't be sorry...

I've mostly used Bushnells over the years, but I recently bought two Nikon Buckmaster scopes. I like them alot. Nice optics and easy adjustments.
