For me it depends on the gun I'm putting it on. I like Leupold scope but don't have one on my muzzleloader or my 22 Hornet (anymore!) I own Leupold, TruGlo and T/C scopes and like them all.

my newest scope is a maine vue. I got it because I didn't have the cash for a high dollar scope. I am pretty happy with the maine vue so far. I will have to see when I get it into some harsh elements...

I have weavers on mine. I can't afford the higher end models at the moment but if i had the choice it would be Leupold.

My favorite would have to be Leupold. It is tough and has good glass. I just ordered a Nikon, just about the only scope I have not tried yet. I have been hearing good things about the glass on them. They say it is as good or better than Leupold. As soon as I get it in I will let you guys know how it is.

I like my Bushnell elite 3200. It has a rainguard coating on the optics that works awesome in the rain. I have it in a 2 x 7 variable.

Leupold and Nikon are proberley the most popular and very very good pieces of glass.
However, if you were to look through a Swarovski, the differences between that and a leupold is the same as the difference between a leupold and a walmart bushnell.
That said, I have nikon everything. I think its the best glass for the money.

I have Nikon Monarchs on both my 270 and 300wm, and I totally swear by them.

I don't do alot of gun hunting but have Leupolds on most. I have Swarovski binos and if I did lots of gun hunting that would for sure be my choice

Leupolds on the two firearms I own that are scoped. A Mark IV LR/T 4.5-14 on my AR and a 2x20 on my Super Redhawk .454

I bought my first Leupold last summer. I always thought they were over rated, but it is a fine scope!

Hi Dave,
Not trying to flame you on this just trying to explain the difference between the two. They MAY seem to equal in clarity but they are not.
THis will first become aparent in low light situations. The more expensive binos havea a better glass in them that allows better light transmition thus you are able to see MUCH better at dawn and dusk.
The second is clarity. Try to focus on fine detail (like trying to see the scoring rings on a 3d target at 45 yards. That is a good way to see the differense. They better binos are so much clearer they seem to be a higher magnification than a cheaper on.
THis is a combonation of the two but cheaper glass will also give you headaches if you spend alot of time behind it (ask b4rifle, Im sure he can tell you!!!) If you are going to go on a hunt where you spend hours behind the binos or a spotting scope you would be sorry if you went with a lower quality piece of glass.
Now this is not to say that the simmons is a BAD scope as they serve their purpose. I love their shotgun scope.
