This may have to go under mans best friend but I am not sure.I don't usually post much but do look forward to reading everyones stories. My post is this I have 2 year old German Short hair pointer that I am working with on birds, I took him out the day after pheasant season started he was full of energy and very eager to hunt we ended up getting 2 birds and he worked wonderfully. I then took him out Friday night in the corn field near Welches park about 3/4 of the way around the field I turned to investigate a noise and when I turned back around Tucker(dog) was having a terrible seizure it was one of the worst things I have ever had to go through after he gathered himself we got out of there . I called my sister in law who is a vet technician she looked him over made a couple of calls to vets all the while this is going on he seems to get better. I decided to give him a day off went to hill village where he was full of energy from the time we got there to the time we left we went home seemed fine still wanted to hunt took him back down to Welches field he started out fine after about 20 min got lethargic and unresponsive he almost seemed drunk I got him out of there got him home and seemed tired but OK. I had to step out for a while when I came back he was full of running playing just like nothing happened, my question is this has anyone ever had this happen? It only seems to be this field where he has a problem any feedback or thoughts would be appreciated.

I also have a german shorthair and while hunting in Hill, we had the same thing happen. Our dog Jake fell down like he got stabbed in chest and had a bad seizure. We thought that he got stabbed in the throat with a stick, but after a few minutes he starting getting better. He couldnt walk for a while then he was stubbling for a while. He is ok and that was about 2 years ago, the vet seemed to think that it had happened cause he had not had enough to eat and his blood sugar got too low. Glad to hear your dogs ok.

GSP are knowen to have seizures. I have on who has had one. However, It seems funny that it happened in the same place about the same if there is not something in that area that is causing it. Perhaps poison??
