I figured seeing it was pouring out and I was working half a day today I broke out my shotguns and prepped em up for the opener. My backups are my Mossberg 835 with Polychoke2, stripped her down and gave a good cleaning, also took the Polychoke apart and cleaned it good. My other backup is my Stoeger O/U 12 gauge, pretty gun, classic, already spotless, I swapped the 2 turkey tubes in it from this Spring to a Improved Cylinder for the barrel that fires first, second barrel also Improved Cylinder, almost went with Modified but I like holding them close then hitting em hard at short range. My main wing shooting gun is my Stoeger M2000 camo semi 12 gauge which I usually go with Modified but I am figuirng young dumb birds and birds who havent been shot at for a longgggggg time so for now I am going with Improved Cylinder also in the M2000. The 835 is long n bulky not good for wing shooting, the O/U is nice, swings good, but heavier and only2 shots. The M2000...if you wanna really pound birds get a good semi!....I love mine.......shoots like greased lightning, 5 shots, thats alot of pellets, when the birds are swarming its the tool for the job...since ive had it ive scored doubles and triples...swap a few sounds around on the FX3 and im good to go....when im traveling any distance I take a backup gun, never needed it yet but I like to bring the 835 and some buckshot for the evening when ill switch to predator hunting...CANT WAIT

I also got my guns ready while the rain has been coming down. Great minds think alike as they say. I have to admit that I've only killed one crow with my 17. My shotgun gets all the work. I should fix that.

I know the feeling gunz. although it seems like when I've brought my rifle along I never see good opportunities to use it.
