My son and I got out today with blummtchuck for a little turkey viewing, good company and a great breakfast! While with him today, he gave me pack of wads he picked up for my Tomwacka smoke pole. I topped off the day with buying some shot and triple seven. After getting home, I went to work mixing up a triplex load of 5X6X7, measuring it out and getting my gear ready for the range. I hate shooting in the rain but had to do it I took a few shots experimenting with and without a shot cup, I can definitely say….use a shot cup! I saw a big difference without it. So, I’m very pleased with what I came up with it for this season but knowing me, I’ll be working after the season tightening it up more. Like with all my patterning, I’ll be getting out once more before taking aim at a long beard. Now for the stats! 20 Yard Target: 90grain Triple Seven powder 5X6X7 shot 1 5/8 oz. shot 110 kills 329 total in 12” circle 30 Yard Target: 90grain Triple Seven powder 5X6X7 shot 1 5/8 oz. shot 56 kills 214 total in 12” circle

Looks pretty good Tom, I think you got a couple of dead turkeys there. I noticed shooting mine this afternoon it shot better with a shotcup than it did without one. I'll try to get my targets posted. This last target was a duplex load. All these were shot with a shotcup.

You've got a few dead targets as well there bmc I'm like this smoke pole thing. I'll have to try a different choke and maybe a 2oz load today in all this rain we're having Darn weatherman

Hey BMC, Shot the tomwacka again today. Jumped up the load to 2oz, kept the powder at 90grs of triple 7 and added a kicks tube. Wait to see this pattern buddy! It's nice I'll post a photo later......Tom

Not sure if using a black powder is going to be fair with pattern like this! I’ll tell you what; this is a lot better than I’ve most 12ga shotguns I’ve seen. I was going to shot a 30 yarder to see what it looked like but I ran out of time.

I guess that turkey would have a Jelly Head . That triplex load does a number. Guess you will be toting that BP shotgun to WV. I can't wait to use mine, just a couple more weeks. SMOKE-M ;D
