Dan and I hit the woods Saturday for the close of the season hunt. No takers, but , it was a good scouting day. Thinking next season. Dan an I did well this season and we are just getting better at this game. Time is on the coyotes side as it is far and few between for us. We do make the best with what time we have. Have a few new plans for next season and one is Maine for night hunting. Here is the layout. Coyote Night Hunting Permit: A coyote night hunting permit is required in adddition to a hunting license that allows hunting of big game or small game for hunters 10 years of age or older to hunt coyote at night from January 1 to June 1. Hunting under this permit is limited to 1/2 hour after sunset until 1/2 hour before sunrise and shall cease at midnight each Saturday and resume at 12:01 a.m. on Monday. Small Game Hunting License: A resident small game hunting license or nonresident small game hunting license permits persons 16 years of age or older to hunt all legal game species except deer, bear, turkey, moose, raccoon and bobcat with a firearm or bow and arrow. The 3-day small game hunting license is valid for 3 consecutive days. Small Game Hunting (16 years and older) - $67.00 Coyote Night Hunting Permit (16 years and older) - $4.00 So, best to all of you and have a great summer and I'll see you in the Fall. Highwaystar

You do realize there is no closed season on coyotes in NH? The only restrictions are for night hunting and hunting over bait which runs Jan 1 through March 31. Daytime hunting has no restrictions or limits.

We do know that it runs year round. Due to schedules and our hunting preference, Highwaystar and I prefer to hunt in the winter and locate in the spring. I realize there is no short supply of yotes, but I'll let the little ones hit the ground and head out after them this fall.
Maybe you and Browning would be up for some discussions over a frosty one? And anyone else that is interested...
