Oh yeah, sure! Thanks a lot, DD. January 22 and you're posting the striper report! Now I'm going to sit here in the ice and snow thinking about stripers. I usually don't get this wonky about about those things until May. Now I gotta' go downstairs and clean reels for the umpteenth time since the end of the season. PS, do you let guys who like to throw big fly rods, onto the back of your boat?

fly fishing is the only way to go for strippers in my opinion. I like to catch lots of fish regardless of size, instead of one or two big fish like most of the "chunkers" that i know. you are right about the macks too! an abloslute blast on the fly rod. I use an 8wt most of the time for the stripes but i have used a 6 when it was all i had. 20 inch fish on a 6wt is good fun no matter who you are. i usually use clousers and decivers incase anyone was wondering.

DD How do you locate mackeral? I would like to catch some so I will have some to troll around with. Do they come into the rivers or are you catching them offshore?
Wingnut catchin strippers on a fly road must make them scream:^)

mostly we just watch the birds and spot them on top. usually they are being busted by bigger fish and the macks are accidental catches. if you want to target them, a chum slick is definetly the way
